A Data Center Phase 103 Expansion Project
--Integrated High-Efficiency Chiller Plant · High-Reliability Data Center Solution with Year-Round PUE<1.2
Project Overview
This project is the Phase 103 expansion of a data center for a major internet company in Qingpu, designed to build a high-density, high-efficiency, high-reliability next-generation data center. The facility features single-rack power loads of 8kW, peaking at 10kW - a high-density deployment that imposes stringent demands on cooling system stability and energy efficiency.
Operational Energy Efficiency
The facility maintains a PUE of <1.2 at any time throughout the year. Summer testing recorded a comprehensive PUE of 1.18, with the integrated high-efficiency chiller plant achieving an average COP of >10 - far exceeding industry averages. The system supports unattended operation with automatic fault switching and mode transition, ensuring uninterrupted year-round stable operation with 99.999% availability.
01
Integrated High-Efficiency Chiller Plant
The system features an integrated high-efficiency plant room design, with chillers, chilled water pumps, and condenser water pumps highly integrated to reduce pipeline losses and improve overall energy efficiency.
02
Dual-Loop Redundant Cooling
The system adopts a dual-loop design with 2 independent modules operating in parallel with mutual hot backup. In the event of a module failure, the other module seamlessly takes over the full load, ensuring 24/7 uninterrupted operation with 99.999% availability.
03
Custom Closed-Cooling Towers with Free Cooling
Custom-designed closed-cooling towers support free cooling without the need for valve switching, fully utilizing outdoor natural cooling sources during transition seasons and winter to significantly reduce compressor energy consumption.
