New Port of Veracruz, Mexico

--Total Cooling Capacity: 560 HP · World-Class Port Infrastructure Solution

Project Background

The New Port of Veracruz, located on the southwestern shore of the Gulf of Mexico, is the largest port on Mexico's eastern coast, known as the "Gateway to the East". With a total area of 11,130,000 m² and an annual cargo volume exceeding 95 million tons, it is the largest harbor in Mexico. The project is operated by Hutchison Ports and was meticulously supervised by Louis Berger, a prestigious American commissioning company.

Project Challenges

Veracruz has a tropical humid climate along the Gulf Coast, featuring year-round high temperatures, heavy rainfall, and high airborne salt content. As a large-scale logistics hub, the port generates significant equipment heat loads and requires air conditioning systems to operate reliably 24/7. The high-salinity coastal environment places extremely stringent demands on anti-corrosion performance - standard air conditioning equipment is prone to casing rust and heat exchanger corrosion under such harsh conditions, severely impacting equipment lifespan and operational reliability.

Solution

Hisense provided the Hi-FLEXi S Series (Anti-Corrosion) air conditioning solution for the New Port of Veracruz project, with a total cooling capacity of 560 HP. This series features specialized anti-corrosion design for highly corrosive coastal environments, ensuring long-term stable operation under harsh port conditions.

Key technical highlights of the solution include:

01.Hi-Black Fin Patented Anti-Corrosion Coils for Salt Spray Resistance
All heat exchangers feature Hi-Black Fin patented black anti-corrosion coils, coated with epoxy resin using advanced film-forming techniques. Compared to traditional acrylic resin coatings, the epoxy resin coating offers superior adhesion and salt spray resistance, effectively withstanding long-term corrosion in high-salinity port environments.

02

IP55-Rated Electrical Control Box for Harsh Environments

The units feature an IP55-rated electrical control box with a four-layer sealing structure that effectively blocks rainwater, salt spray, sand, dust, and insects. Combined with micro-channel refrigerant cooling kits and ventilation fans for efficient heat dissipation, the system ensures stable and reliable operation even in high-temperature, high-humidity port environments.

3

Patented 360° Refrigerant Cooling Technology for Electronics Protection

The units utilize patented 360° fitted refrigerant cooling technology, effectively cooling the entire electrical control box. This overcomes poor heat dissipation and ensures the inverter module maintains efficient and reliable operation under harsh conditions.

04

All-DC Inverter with Wide Operating Range for Extreme Climates

Featuring all-DC inverter energy-saving technology, the units deliver significantly improved energy efficiency. The system offers exceptional wide-range operation capability, performing reliably in extreme temperatures from -30°C to 55°C, effectively addressing Veracruz's year-round tropical climate challenges.

Project Value

The New Port of Veracruz project represents a landmark reference for Hisense HVAC in world-class port infrastructure. The successful implementation of this project not only provides reliable climate control for Mexico's largest port but also fully validates the Hi-FLEXi S Series (Anti-Corrosion)'s outstanding performance and reliability in coastal high-salinity, high-temperature, and high-humidity extreme environments. This project will serve as a showcase reference for Hisense in Mexico and the broader Latin American market.
